Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

Let's do a fun Thanksgiving link up party! I don't know about you, but I LOVE getting new recipes...especially recipes that are tried and true and tested by people that I know. Nothing is worse than trying a recipe, and it turns out crummy.

So link up and share your favorite Thanksgiving recipe!

I will start this party and share two of my favorite recipes.

This one became famous in a round about kind of way. Years ago at school, a fellow teacher asked if I knew any great vegetable side dishes. I shared my Meme's (grandma) corn recipe. On the card next to the corn, she wrote "Angela's Grandma's Famous Corn Recipe". So it became famous. It's that good. And now I'm sharing it with you!

Angela's Grandma's Famous Corn Recipe

2 bags corn (Green Giant)
1-2 sticks butter (I use just 1 but stir it often)
8 oz. cream cheese
jalapeno peppers to taste, chopped

Cook all ingredients for 3 hours on low in crock pot.

Earthquake Cake

1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup coconut
1 large pkg cream cheese (8 oz)
16 oz powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter

Sprinkle pecans and coconut on bottom of 9x13 pan (don’t use a low pan because it will run over the edge). Mix cake mix according to box directions and pour over pecans and coconut. Mix in bowl: melted butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla (I find it easier to melt butter and cream cheese and then gradually add powdered sugar). Bake in oven at 350˚ for about 45 minutes. The cake mix and icing will mix all together and therefore look like an “earthquake” hit it. Easy to make and always a hit!

Link up and join the party! I can't wait to get some new recipes!
