Howdy! Have you noticed that my little blog got a makeover? I am so excited that I did it. I LOVE it!
It has been a looooooooong time since I've joined Doodle Bugs for the weekly Five for Friday. Quite a bit of changes have taken place lately, and I'd love to tell you about them!
Here we go!
So this happened a couple of weeks ago....
I had thought about a tattoo for a while but never knew exactly what I wanted to get. After my year in Korea, I knew exactly what I wanted. A little elephant. My blog in Korea was called The Elephant Hat. Now every time I see an elephant I think of my time in Korea and the fact that God's plans are better than my dreams. I had always pictured my life differently at my age (marriage and kids), but if that had happened then I would have never had the amazing experience of teaching and living in Korea. And I wouldn't have given that up for anything.
She thinks that anything on the kitchen counter or the island is for her. If it's food, it's for her. If it's in a ziploc baggie, it's for her. It it's in a Walmart or Target bag, its' for her. If it's in plastic, it's for her.
See Exhibit A.
I take photos on the side of friends and family. One of my former students (I had her in 6th grade) contacted me for senior photos. Here are three of my favorites. I am so proud of her. She's going into the Navy this summer.
We have been researching inventors in class, and they finished their reports this week. I love their pictures of their inventors. Aren't they adorable?
I only have 8 more days of school. And that means I only have 8 more days of teaching. It's hard to believe, but it's sinking in.
I'm nervous. And excited. And anxious. And scared. And excited. Yes, I said excited. I am so excited to get my new business of educational consulting and training started. I feel like this is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.
I finished my website this week and got my business cards in. It's getting real, people!
Here is my website (I kept the whole Southern Fried Teachin' theme)...

And here are my business cards...
Would love to hear your opinions!
Happy Saturday!

This sweet girl has been keeping me on my toes lately. She thinks that anything on the kitchen counter or the island is for her. If it's food, it's for her. If it's in a ziploc baggie, it's for her. It it's in a Walmart or Target bag, its' for her. If it's in plastic, it's for her.

I have been waking up with headaches every single day lately, so my chiropractor recommended a new pillow. I bought the new pillow, put it up on the island, and went out to dinner with a friend. I thought nothing of leaving it on the kitchen island because it wasn't food and it didn't smell like food.
WRONG. She got it down and destroyed it.
So I thought that I need to stimulate her mind. I bought one of the dog puzzles from Petsmart. I put food kibbles inside. I even showed her that there were food kibbles inside. And this is what she does.
She didn't try to figure out how to get the food inside. She didn't even touch it. She just stared at it. And she guarded it to make sure Missy and Kobe did not come near it.
So I tried something different. I bought her a new crate. She destroyed my blinds and wall paint in the metal crate, so this time I bought a non-destructible Kong crate. She wouldn't be able to move it to destroy the blinds.
I put her in it with a Kong toy filled with frozen peanut butter and left for work.
This is what I found when I got home.
OK. Seriously? I couldn't even figure out how to make the door swing open like that. I could only figure out how to flip the door up. But she figured it out. And she greeted me at the door so excited to show me the cool and nifty puzzle that she figured out.
Oh, what am I gonna do with her?
If you have any ideas, I'm all for them!
